3 Simple Things Our Team Does To Strengthen Their Creative Power
Feeling stuck at work, or even just in your everyday life, can really affect your motivation for productivity and creating new work either for your clients or really just for yourself. Not to mention, it can really bring your mood down or make you anxious when you are running on crunch time for time-sensitive projects and deadlines.
The good news is, you are not alone. Even the best creatives in the world experience creative burnout. Our in-house team has shared 3 of the most unique tips that have helped them get their creative juices running more often.
1. Take it easy
When we experience creative burnout, it is often a sign of our bodies and brains communicating that we need a recovery period.
Take a bath, nap during your lunchtime, eat foods that are nourishing and grounding, or if you're really craving an activity, opt-in for a quick 20-minute restorative movement practice before bed to get you ready for some deep sleep. And remember, your schedule CAN have some gaps in it. You'll survive, and the world will wait. Don't book clients back to back. Allow yourself to have space to re-boot, and your creative spirit will deliver you with a big thank you.
2. Seek mindless inspiration
We're big fans of Netflix and chillin'. And yes, even scrolling on IG. You can do it from the comfort of your work chair, couch, or bed, and you can find so much inspiration from the characters on TV, the trending songs on Tik Tok, to being inspired by your favorite social media accounts. We recommend only choosing content that sparks joy to avoid media burnout.
3. Say yes to play
Creativity can often come from playfulness. Try connecting to your inner child and take out your color pencils and markers and spend 15 minutes creating a self-portrait, writing a short story, or even singing along to your favorite song. This can often remind you of a happy memory that will inspire work to come!
Lastly, keep a journal or a box of things that spark inspiration in your everyday life. Maybe it's a beautiful postcard you received from the last purchase you made or a chocolate wrapper with a really cool design that you want to mimic on your next project. Remember, inspiration can come from many different directions. Stay open, rested, and always make time to play.
Sincerely,
Your friends at Up in a Day™
