These keywords help search engines see your site as relevant to the people looking for those search terms. Search engines usually prioritize the following content within your site in this order:
Site title
SEO titles
Page titles

Using keywords strategically helps search engines see your site as relevant to the people looking for those search terms.
Below is our list of suggested questions to answer with your internal team to help your brainstorming process and support you in creating a list of keywords people might be searching for to find sites like yours:
Who is your target audience?
What sets you apart from your competitors?
What synonyms of your keywords can you utilize? For example: Miami photographer and Miami photography are two different keywords.
What other words, does Google autofill? Open Google, type in your keywords and see what Google auto-fills for you. This exercise will give you an idea of what people are searching.
Type the words you've come up with in Google and see what else pops up.
If your business doesn't rank well when you search by its name, you should consider prioritizing that as a keyword.
Google your competitors and see how they show up in search
Once you create your list, prioritize your keywords. Which ones are broad enough that people will search for them and specific to what you offer to rank on the first page of search results potentially? And as always, make sure they are relevant to your site.
Bonus Tip: If you have an existing site, you can use Google Search Console to see how you rank and what keywords prompt your business to appear in search. Use Google Search Console search.google.com to identify which search words within your website come up. Go to performance on the left-hand side and scroll down to Queries. Here, you'll see what keywords are searched for within your product/service. Another tip is to inspect your page and ask Google to index it for errors.
