Your network is a flow of opportunities
Scheduling strategic one-on-ones inside and outside my network has been beneficial for Up in a Day. These meetings can be casual, via phone or video, and are excellent opportunities to practice delivering our pitch, get referrals, feedback on our products and services, and of course, to keep in touch with friends and former colleagues… a vital thing when so many of us are working from home.
Knowledge is power
In any industry, it's essential to keep a finger on the pulse of trends, news, and insights while also reading books relevant to specific topics you are looking to grow in. Checklists got your back
I'm a checklist kind of woman so getting in the habit of breaking down my personal to-do's into a checklist format keeps me focused, organized, and stress-free. I start my week by making a week-long to-do checklist, then break that down by day of the week. I get so much more done this way, and at the end of the day, I walk away from my desk with a sense of ease and spend time with my family.
Mind & body
They say the body keeps the score, and it's true. Our body is like a machine. When we don't give it the attention and nurturing it deserves, it can backfire on us. I'm one of those people that needs at least eight hours of sleep per night, so making a point to go to bed on time at the same time every night is very crucial for a sharp mind the next day. I also exercise at least four times a week with a mix of cardio and yoga. It keeps me motivated, boosts my mood, and reduces the possibility of a stress spike for the day ahead.
Take a breather
Contrary to popular belief, it's okay to take a break from work. When I allow myself to step away from the business, whether with a long walk outside or simply taking a morning off, it enables me to come back and see whatever project I may be working on with a fresh perspective. Resting is an actual investment in the well-being of your business and a source to collect energy for the brain.
